Prepare and communicate schedules for the press and cast areas that satisfy the requirements of manufacturing, distribution and our customers, utilizing the IDS order management system. Insure that film and other necessary materials are available to produce customer orders in an efficient and timely manner.
 
1.  Using electronic order management system, determine which orders will be added to the schedule for the press and cast departments, based upon cutstomer request dates, material/line availability, production efficiency, nd utiliztion of mximum line capacities.
 
2.  Update press schedules to reflect production since prior update, and resequence orders added to reflect current status.
 
3.  Update film inventory and determine that all scheduled film is available.
 
4.  Analyze schedules and backlogs for problems.  Make corrections and reccommendations to resolve them.
 
5.  Schedule Cast lines.
 
6.  Print and distribute line schedules to support and production areas in a timely manner.
 
7.  Print and distribute film, backlog and scheduling reports in a timely manner.
 
8.  Maintain understanding of manufcturing capabilities of different machines.
 
9.  Attend appropriate meetings and participate as a team member or resource for continuous imporovement initiatives as needed.

The Mechanical Packaging Section is comprised of 15 full time permanent mechanical engineers with an additional 2 contractors. Requires a BSME, 5 plus years aerospace experience and 5 plus years in electronic packaging. The primary roles and responsibilities of the Electronics Mechanical Packaging Section Manager are listed below:
 

Provide effective technical leadership to a cross-site and cross-group section of creative engineering subordinates for a coordinated approach to the design and development of electronics packaging.
Develop technology road maps for IR&D activities by integrating the product line visions for growth in electronics packaging. This is comprised of, but not limited to thermal conditioning (passive and active approaches, heat pipes, phase change materials) and materials and processing techniques (composites for weight, thermal, mechanical stress, EMI and manufacturing improvements.)
Manage the appropriate engineering staffing levels across the sites by developing the section resources and by leveraging the capability of other groups and external consultants. This includes setting tactical priorities on programs as well as facilitating the career growth and development of subordinates through routine feedback and reviews.
Develop the standard processes and tool strategies for the section to assure successful program execution to performance, cost and schedule.
Develop the budget for the section to achieve the functions annual objectives.
Collaborate as integral member of management leadership team for steering and incorporating functional objectives.
Guide the collaboration of resolutions to major customer technical and process issues internal or field related through trade studies, design proposals or audits and corrective actions.
